Valentine's Day was the one-year anniversary of Jim's first surgery. Needless to say, this Valentine's Day was much better. It feels like this all started 100 years ago.

Jim went for his second tooth with wax model fitting this past Monday. Ugh. If the model had looked good at this point Vanni would have then sent them out for the dentures to be made. They looked horrible. I think they even looked worse this time than they did the last time. When Vanni popped them into Jim's mouth it was almost like looking at a car accident....it's horrible to look at but you can't seem to turn yourself away. As soon as Jim turned towards me my mind went...OOOOHHHH....OOOHHHH...NOOOOOO....MUST....LOOK.....AWAY! Vanni saw the look on my face and didn't even ask Jim how HE liked the teeth. He just said he'd adjust them again. What I don't understand is, Jim never had BIG teeth. Why did Vanni make these things so friggin BIG? Here's an old picture I dug up of Jim before his teeth went really, really bad. His teeth (back when he HAD them) were not big:

Here's what the false teeth looked like on Monday:

No way....no way. I told Jim that I know he's anxious to get his teeth so he can move on with his therapy, BUT HE CAN'T GO THROUGH LIFE LOOKING LIKE MR. ED! He just can't. And how could Vanni have thought those horse teeth looked good? Those false teeth were some big ass teeth. I mean, just because Jim needs dentures does Vanni have some attitude like Jim doesn't deserve to look good? Vanni seems to be careless in this department, and false teeth are supposed to be his specialty. Are all people with dentures undeserving in some way? If that was Brad Pitt sitting in that chair Vanni would never have popped those monstrosities in HIS mouth. Back to the drawing board I guess.

This Friday Jim goes back to Dr. Horowitz to talk about getting another CAT scan to make sure there's no more pheo's growing back. Then Friday afternoon he has an appointment with the pulmonologist, Dr. DeBoer. I think Jim needs another bronchospocy. I think he's still aspirating his food. Jim and I have bets on whether or not DeBoer will send him for one. We shall see.
